About myself:
Born and bread in Switzerland I early discovered a passion for drawing, painting, shapes and colours. After graduating from high school in Switzerland and a liberating 5 months backpack trip through Central and South America, I moved to London in 2003 to study Product Design at Central Saint Martins. Right after graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2007 I started working on a project for Swarovski as a freelance designer. Upon completion I accepted a 6 months internship in Shanghai which was a tremendous experience, on a professional as well as on a personal level. However, my European roots and London’s undeniable reputation as the design capitol bring me back to London, where my professional journey as a designer continues.

About my work:
There isn’t much about design that I am not interested in or that I wouldn’t like to try. To me design is about people, culture and the way we life or even about life itself. Design accompanies us from the day we are born until the day we die. I am particularly interested in design in everyday life because it is in the most mundane aspects of life where good design can make a difference.

My skills:
Design is not just about a finished product but about all the steps you take on the way.

RESEARCH: I research into people, places and behaviours.

THINKING: I use the research and identify the most relevant issues and draw conclusions from it.

IDEAS: From the observations and conclusions I produce a range of interesting ideas that challenge a design brief and go beyond the obvious.

DESIGN: These Ideas I transform into a design; hands on with sketching and model making, as well as on computer with Illustrator, Photoshop and 3D CAD.

PRESENTATION: I am experienced and feel comfortable in presenting my designs and ideas to clients face to face.

At the end, the product is not a coincidence, but its shape, materials, textures etc. are communicating the idea, that is drawn from my conclusions and can be placed into context and will be used by the people in the real world.
